We’re on the hunt for a talented Junior Account Executive to join our growing team. The post will initially be a 3 month trial with the expectation that this will become a permanent role. Remuneration during the period will be £8 per hour for 35 hours per week. About Us
Barking Dog is a full-service agency, that covers the whole spectrum of marketing and communications disciplines. This means we deliver PR strategies, build websites, create videos, design collateral and advertising, facilitate sales campaigns, manage social media channels, organise events and buy media.
We’re a small team, split between 2 sites, but, given the breadth of disciplines, we also have a large network of experienced freelancers. We mainly specialise in the Sustainability sector so many of our clients are either finding new ways to create energy, resources and products from the waste we throw away, or developing more environmentally friendly solutions for the way we live.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate may be leaving Uni or school this year. They will have a great attention to detail and organisation skills with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise. They will work hard but will also have fun. He/she should also be available to travel to visit clients and support the team at events.
This role is best suited to someone who has studied, or has a vocation to work, in marketing and communications. The person will need to be a quick learner, have bags of confidence, be good with technology, be creative and good with words, as well as wanting to quickly improve your skills to climb the ladder of success.
The Role
Tasks typically involve:
- – liaising on a daily basis with clients and the media, often via telephone and email;
- – relationship building and networking with colleagues, clients and the media;
- – monitoring the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, social media sites and blogs, for opportunities for clients;
- – working as part of an account team to develop client proposals and implement activity;
- – preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings;
- – researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media;
- – management of our media database including press lists and Forward Feature opportunities;
- – promoting news stories and features to the media, known as ‘selling in’;
- – collating, analysing and evaluating media coverage;
- – event management, including press briefings and promotional events;
- – attending and promoting client events to the media;
- – preparing market research;
- – undertaking research for new business proposals and presenting to potential new clients;
- – managing social media channels for Barking Dog and its clients
- – managing content on Barking Dog and client websites
