RWM2013 is Europe’s largest waste to resource trade show, covering everything from waste management, materials recovery, recycling solutions, waste to energy and  equipment & plant.

One of the biggest changes happening in waste management is the growing demand from waste producers to get more accurate data from their waste contractor on how much is being collected, what percentage of that is recycled and how much energy from it is recovered.  However, without the right tools and systems this would be impossible  and so waste management companies are starting to invest in technology to help them service their customers better.

One such pioneer is Simply Waste Solutions who, over the last year, has totally upgraded its fleet of vehicles, and has now fitted the very latest bin weighing systems from MOBA Mobile Automation. Simply Waste will now be able to provide their customers with accurate data that will tell them when and where bins were collected, how much they weighed, how much of it was recycling and then, at the other end, what was done with the waste; either turned into energy via Energy from Waste (EfW) or via Anaerobic Digestion (AD).

At RWM Barking Dog, specialists in sustainability PR, held a number of journalists briefings, including Ben Wood at CIWM Magazine, Andrea Lockerbie at MRW and Geraldine Faulkner at Recycling & Waste World, who gave up their valuable time to meet with Simply Waste and MOBA and hear about the latest bin weighing solution and how this will become more pervasive in the UK market.

Speaking at the system’s launch at RWM 2013, Simply Waste Solutions MD James Capel commented, “This new investment in technology will provide our customers with even greater transparency on the waste they generate, which in turn could help them to reduce the volume of waste they produce and aid them to recycle more”.

Ian Lewis, General Manager of MOBA UK added, “For many reasons, the UK has, so far, been slow to take up bin weighing technology but there is now a new breed of progressive waste management companies, like Simply Waste, who see great benefits in adopting our proven technology to help them improve their waste collection and recycling efficiencies”.
