SEaB Energy: waste to energy… anywhere in the world.

Anaerobic digestion—the process by which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen—might not sound very sexy, but properly harnessed, it can generate renewable energy from waste—effectively tackling two sustainability issues in one fell swoop.

That’s precisely what UK-based cleantech company SEaB Energy is doing with its modular anaerobic digestion units: the MUCKBUSTER® and the FLEXIBUSTER™.

These robustly-named portable units process food waste and other bio wastes directly at the sites of production, enabling food producers, farmers, and other businesses to transform food waste, animal manure or septic waste into green electricity, liquid fertiliser and mulch products.

As turnkey systems housed within a shipping container, SEaB’s innovative products can be deployed anywhere—including places where larger and costlier systems aren’t feasible. Such systems have the potential to bring safe, clean, renewable electricity to some of the most remote areas of the world, while virtually eliminating the costs, fuel consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions associated with waste transport. And that makes anaerobic digestion one of the sexiest processes on the planet!

SEaB Energy is an Autodesk Clean Tech Program Partner,  which supports the efforts, innovations, and environmental advancements of clean technology pioneers by providing world-class software to design, visualise, and simulate groundbreaking ideas.
