Lightera is one of those huge, global businesses few people know of and yet, without it, we wouldn’t have the benefit of superfast broadband. As well as industry-leading fibre optic cable, Lightera also manufacture the connection boxes that supply broadband to homes and businesses.
In May, Lightera launched a newly designed junction box, also known as the Inline Façade, that was easier to install and allowed for more connections. With major customers, such as Openreach, needing an installation guide for its army of engineers, we were called in to produce a set of ‘how to’ films.
Shot at Lightera’s UK HQ in Cwmbrân, we filmed the entire installation process using a variety of camera angles in order to give installation engineers the clearest set of instructions. This was improved upon in post-production where we added animation, clever graphics, a voiceover and subtitles.
The films have now been rolled out to each of Lightera’s customers; some of which have also been tailored for some of its larger customers, who have their own specific materials, tools and processes that are used in the installation process.
